It comes pre-built and requires less infrastructure.

Sisu needs heaps of hard work to manifest its comeback story. We already started. It’s not easy. But it will be stunning.

Sisu is a Finnish word that encapsulates the determination to perservere through adversity. It represents both the land’s ability to withstand years of hardship, and the human will to invest capital and hard work to make it beautiful again.

Sisu is a classic comeback story, only with junk and earth and tiny mirror houses in a forest. It will be transformed.

OUR FOUNDER

Aaron Carriere is the founder of Glamp Michigan.

In 2022, Aaron started dreaming about leaving commercial filmmaking to build nature experiences. The dream is Glamp Michigan.

Twenty years of filmmaking and small business experience translates directly to building — crafting a vision, budgeting, building a team, meeting thorny deadlines — all while ensuring every detail reflects beauty.

Aaron’s vocational calling is simple. “You can be trusted with the beauty of nature.” Glamp Michigan creates luxury accomodations, immersed in nature. Our mission is to connect people to nature and one another.

Built to rise up.

In 2024, we successfully secured a campground permit and purchased 8 acres, a garage, a tiny mirror cabin, a sauna trailer, a skidsteer, a backhoe and an RV. It was going to be a beautiful glamping experience.

However, when we were prepping to excavate, the unthinkable happened–our permit was revoked. Even though we did everything right.

It was a near worst-case scenerio. It would have sunk many small businesses—but our guests stayed at The Domes almost every day. You showed up and confirmed our heart—nature experiences matter. And this wasn’t the end.

Today, every single asset from that loss is being transformed into this new luxury glamping experience in Northern Michigan.

It’s a fitting plot twist. We got knocked down. You lifted us up. Now let’s reclaim this beautiful junkyard.
